The Ministry of Finance did not take into account UAH 7.6 billion for the needs of coal companies in the draft state budget for 2022.
Deputy Energy Minister Oleksii Kurakov said this at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, the Ukrainian News Agency reported.
“We have proposed for 2022 the general needs of the Ministry of Energy of 12.1 billion UAH. It (the proposal) has not been taken into account to the tune of 7.6 billion UAH,” he said. he declared.
Kurakov noted that coal companies were underfunded to the tune of UAH 4.4 billion for operating expenses, especially wages and electricity consumed, and that the finance ministry did not take account for 2.9 billion UAH for capital expenditure.
In addition, the amount for the liquidation of unpromising mines has been reduced from 1.194 billion UAH to 1.132 billion UAH.
“We will have the same situation as today, an unpredictable accident rate, a drop in production, and we will have a very large volume of coal imports from Kazakhstan and Poland, and we will not be balanced”, Kourakov summed up.
As the Ukrainian news agency reported earlier, on September 21, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft state budget for 2022 prepared and submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers for consideration.
