It may be noted that an EPF account holder can change their EPF account name by submitting a new PF appointment. But now an EPF member can change the nominee in their online account.

New Delhi: It is essential to assign an agent to your EPF, EPS account in order to guarantee that your loved ones benefit from your savings for life in your absence. Members of the Employee Provident Fund (EPFO) can now submit EPF and EPS applications digitally by logging into EPFO’s website – epfindia.gov.in. It may be noted that an EPF account holder can change his EPF account name by submitting a new PF appointment. But now an EPF member can change the nominee in their online account. This can be done by filing a new PF nomination.

EPFO explained how to change the EPF / PF nomination online from its official Twitter account, citing: “#EPF members can submit a new nomination to change an existing EPF / # EPS nomination.” The name of the PF candidate mentioned in the last PF appointment will be considered final while the previous PF appointment will be considered canceled by the PF account holder after a new PF appointment.

Steps to change the nominee existing in the EPF online account

EPF members should remember that they can submit an electronic application anytime and anywhere through the UAN connection. As appointment update is required after marriage and to receive PF, Pension and Insurance (EDLI) online payment up to Rs 7 lakhs, one can file an e-Nomination with self-declaration only and without documentation or employer approval is required in accordance with guidelines established by EPFO. To declare an e-nomination, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • After logging in, go to the Employees section and click on “UAN / Online Service Member.
  • Log in now with UAN and password Under the ‘Manage’ tab, click on E-Nomination ‘
  • Now click on ‘Yes’ to update the family declaration. Now click on “Add Family Details” and you can add multiple applicants.
  • Now click on “Nomination details” to declare the total amount of the share, then click on “Save EPF nomination”.
  • Now click on ‘e-Sign’ to generate OTP. Now submit the OTP sent to your mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
  • After successful verification of the OTP, your appointment will be successfully registered with the EPFO.
  • Once the electronic nomination is successful, no further physical documents are required.
