PARADE TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES A FAMILY OF TIMING CONTROLLERS, DISPLAY DRIVERS AND LEVEL SHIFTING DEVICES WITH INTEGRATED TOUCH FOR WQXGA COMPUTER IN-CELL PANELS
Parade Technologies, Ltd. (Taiwan OTC: 4966.TWO) today announced the DP818 / DP816 (TTcon) Sync Controllers with Integrated Touch Controller, TC2200 (TSD) Source Drivers with Integrated Touch Analog Front Ends (AFE) and TC2201, a Gate-on-Array (GOA) level (TLS) for required display and touch voltage generation. This family of complementary devices targets high-resolution laptop platforms supporting Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) 1.4b with features such as high dynamic range (HDR) and Panel Self-Refresh (PSR). The DP818 Tcon supports TrueTouch capacitive touch functionality in the cell and active stylus functionality for commercial laptop applications, while the DP816 provides a rugged TrueTouch touch solution only for consumer notebooks. The integrated Tcon, SD and touch level shifter combine Parade’s extensive portfolio of patented display and touchscreen technologies, along with proven display processing and high-speed signal technology to provide a solution. Low-power, highly integrated display and touchscreen display for high-end in-cell laptops. A-Si or Oxide TFT LCD screens.
The DP818 / DP816 targets screen resolutions up to 2560×1600 RGB (WQXGA) at 60Hz display refresh. The built-in eDP Tcon fully supports VESA eDP 1.4b, including HDR, Adaptive timing operation, PSR / PSR2 using on-chip integrated frame buffer and LCD backlight power saving through advanced contrast enhancement technology. These devices integrate the touch controller for digital filtering and processing of touch data received from the additional source driver TC2200. The DP818 and DP816 provide high speed Scalable Intra-Panel Interface (SIPI ™) outputs to the TC2200 that drive the LCD display.
The TC2200 SIPI ™ driver source leverages Parade’s patented TrueTouch ™ technology portfolio and AFE design experience refined over seven production generations and more than one billion delivered touch devices. The TC2200 offers superior noise immunity, excellent tactile response and a robust ESD system for integrated displays. The devices provide a tactile response that meets or exceeds Microsoft Windows requirements for reliable touch performance. Using active shielding technology, Parade is able to offer the best signal to noise ratio (SNR), perfect for advanced in-cell touch screen architectures. Fully programmable row and column driver display timing allows support for a variety of panel configurations.
The DP818 device offers additional touch integration functionality with additional circuitry and logic to support the active stylus. It supports common active pen protocols to enable quick writing, annotation, and note taking. The performance of the stylus is responsive, precise and robust, providing a true pen-and-paper experience.
TC2201 door level shifter with touch modulation provides voltage control for the LCD door driver, source voltage oscillation for touch, and stylus communication signals required for the active stylus . During touch scan, the TC2201 provides active VCOMDC shielding to adjacent touch sensors in addition to the touch scan voltage swing to increase SNR.
The DP818, DP816 are offered in a Super Fine Pitch Ball Grid (vfBGA) enclosure and the TC2201 is available in a Wireless Quad-Flat Enclosure (QFN). The TC2200 is offered in a gold-plated COG (Chip-on-Glass) physical form factor. Samples are available now.
