Abris Capital launches the Climate Manifesto
The manifesto follows Abris’ announcement earlier this year of its ESG Universe 2023 strategy – a comprehensive program of environmental, social and governance initiatives that commits the company to achieving a carbon neutral portfolio by 2025 – as well as the launch in 2020 of its rating application, a proprietary IT tool that tracks more than 500 ESG measures within each company in the portfolio, supporting investment decision-making and reporting the value created to investors.
Pawel Gierynski, Managing Partner at Abris, commented:
“Carbon neutrality comes at a price. In order to mitigate the worst effects of climate change, all businesses will need to plan for carbon neutrality. The costs associated with this change are an obligation for future investors. As well as being the right thing to do, addressing them today will also make our businesses more valuable.. “
As a responsible investor, Abris is fully aware of the impact it and the companies in its portfolio can have in terms of achieving climate goals. Abris addresses the risks of climate change through its investment decisions and through its interactions with the companies in its portfolio, and is therefore committed to proactively managing the risks and opportunities associated with climate change as the world shifts to a higher level. net zero saving.
The firm’s Climate Manifesto defines key actions in five key areas: achieving carbon neutrality at Abris by 2023; develop an efficient balancing model by 2023; achieve a carbon neutral portfolio by 2025; develop an agile climate change strategy for the companies in our portfolio; and building a net zero strategy for our portfolio companies by 2030. Monika Nachyla, partner at Abris, adds:
“Companies that have a clear climate change strategy and can help lead the transition to net zero will provide better long-term returns for investors. They will be ready for the future and better able to adapt in a changing world. They will be favored by increasingly climate-conscious consumers, employees and other stakeholders. And they will easily comply with changing regulatory and societal requirements, managing their investing cash flows in predictable ways. They will be the winners and the game changers. “
